Greedy Growers Lightning — How It Works & Harvest Timing

Lightning is what makes Greedy Growers tense. The longer you wait, the taller (and more valuable) your trees — but strikes get more frequent as trees grow. Time your harvest with the beginner guide and protect value via upgrades.

How lightning works

Lightning can strike at any moment and destroy a matured tree. The risk rises as a tree grows taller — small saplings are safe, near-max trees are the most exposed. This is the core risk-reward: wait for more value, or harvest and lock in profit.

Harvest timing

  • A common community strategy: harvest around ~70% of a tree's potential height, then replant immediately
  • Plant multiple trees in succession so risk is spread (lightning rarely hits two in a row)
  • Harvest your most valuable trees while you are online

Visual cues

Players report the sky darkens slightly before a strike, giving a short window to harvest. Treat any darkening as a warning and pull value off the plot.

Data accuracy

Exact strike odds and timers are not published and shift with updates. The timing strategies above come from community play and the official Discord — verify current behavior in-game before betting a high-value tree.

FAQ

Can a struck tree be recovered?

No — protection means harvesting before the strike and spreading risk across multiple trees.
